Volatility

Volatility measures the size and frequency of price changes. Highly volatile assets, such as small-cap stocks, crypto and silver, can rise or fall sharply in short periods. Volatility is not the same as loss, but it makes losses more likely for anyone forced to sell at the wrong time.

Why It Matters

Higher potential returns almost always come with higher volatility.

In India

Silver fell about 30% in a single session on January 30, 2026, an extreme example of volatility.
