Reverse Flipping

Many Indian startups were incorporated in the US or Singapore because foreign investors preferred it, a move called flipping. Reverse flipping moves the parent company back to India, often to list on Indian exchanges.

Why It Matters

It costs money and sometimes large taxes, but opens the door to India’s booming IPO market.

In India

Groww, Meesho, Razorpay and PhonePe all moved their domicile back to India ahead of planned listings.
