Portfolio
A portfolio is the full collection of a person’s or fund’s investments, such as shares, mutual funds, bonds, gold and deposits. Investors judge risk and return at the level of the whole portfolio, not each holding.
Why It Matters
One bad investment matters much less in a well-built portfolio.
In India
A beginner’s portfolio might combine an index fund SIP, a PPF account and an emergency fund in a savings account.
