Fresh Issue
In a fresh issue, a company creates and sells new shares, and the money raised goes into the company to fund growth or repay debt. Existing shareholders’ stakes are diluted.
Why It Matters
A fresh issue means your money builds the business; an offer for sale means it pays existing owners.
In India
Jio Platforms’ 2026 IPO was a fresh issue only, so all the money raised went to the company.
